Nestled at the foot of the famous Phare des Baleines lighthouse, our La Plage campsite is an invitation to get away from it all in an unspoilt natural setting, just a stone’s throw from one of the island’s most beautiful beaches: Plage de la Conche. In the heart of lush, green vegetation, our small, human-scale campsite offers the ideal haven for discovering the Ile de Ré. The invigorating sea air, vast sandy beaches and paths bordering the salt marshes are the perfect playground for outdoor enthusiasts.

Sports enthusiasts (or simply lovers of romantic bike rides ) can explore the island in complete freedom thanks to the many cycle paths. You’ll be able to pedal in complete safety, on trails sometimes located in forests, in the heart of picturesque villages, on the edge of salt marshes or along beaches. Surfing and water sports enthusiasts will be delighted by the surrounding beaches, ideal for getting out of your comfort zone.

There’s no shortage of activities on the campsite to combine sport and relaxation. The aquatic area includes an outdoor pool heated to 28°C all season long, perfect for a few lengths or a refreshing dip. All around, deckchairs await you if you prefer sunbathing, an ideal setting for unwinding. Younger guests can enjoy the heated paddling pool with its mini-toboggan.

At Camping La Plage, you also have access to our wellness area, featuring a spa, a free-access hammam and an indoor cardio/fitness area. You’ve taken a few days off to enjoy a long weekend on one of the May bank holidays. In the morning, the day begins with a leisurely breakfast, comfortably seated on the terrace of your mobile home. The sound of birdsong and the sea air provide a soothing wake-up call, perfect for enjoying a quiet moment with your partner, friends or family. Once you’ve woken up, head for the beach, nearby thanks to our direct access, for a morning stroll hand in hand. Take the opportunity to admire the imposing Phare des Baleines lighthouse, master of the area. You can visit it, but be prepared to climb 257 steps! With its breathtaking view of the Ile de Ré and the ocean in the background, the effort will be amply rewarded.

After this little escapade, you can have lunch on the campsite in our snack restaurant. There’s plenty to eat and drink, and plenty of energy for the afternoon ahead! Our team also offers take-away food for picnics on the beach or on long walks.
In the afternoon, it’s time to explore! Rent a bike and explore the surrounding area. Head for Ars-en-Ré and its charming picturesque port, then continue your ride to Portes-en-Ré, where the flower-filled lanes, white houses and colorful shutters will immerse you in an authentic, timeless atmosphere.

Back at the campsite in the late afternoon, the atmosphere becomes more convivial. An aperitif on the terrace followed by a game of pétanque allows you to enjoy the warm setting of our La Plage campsite while sharing a moment of complicity with friends. For couples in search of a unique experience, or for the more sporty, a kayak or paddle outing at sunset offers a magical touch to this perfect day.
